4th Grenchen International Soloist Competition
The International Soloist Competition is part of the Grenchen International Music Week and was held for the fourth time in 2022. It serves as a springboard for young talents and inspires their careers. This year the competition will be in the trombone category and will last from May 2nd to 5th. In three rounds, the winners are recognized by an international jury of experts.
Sinfonia Masovia - Warsaw Chamber Philharmonic conducted by Prof. Dariusz Mikulski (who voted as a juror in the final round of the competition) accompanied the finalist with Oliver Waespi's composition "Scene Changed" for trombone and orchestra. This year's winners are Kris Garfit (1st prize) and Norwin Hahn (2nd prize).
With the overture to Mozart: "The Magic Flute" and L.v. Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 "Eroica" the concert program was complete.
"Sinfonia Masovia - Warsaw Chamber Philharmonic" and Prof. Dariusz Mikulski congratulated the laureate and the organizers.
